Duomo (Cathedral of Milan)
Many are called, some are sisters, but the lucky ones are Sorelle.
Grazie Mille- thanks a thousand (like thanks a million)
Rompare le scatole- break their boxes (put them in their place)
Where to even begin... Well our week started off at the Duomo. We were
there for only like 15 minutes because we didn't have a lot of time
but it was AMAZING! It was so beautiful. We did some proselyting there
and it was a lot of fun! Then we had dinner with the mission president
and his wife. They are so fun and I like them a lot.
Then the next morning we were assigned our trainers and areas! My trainer is Sorella Visconti and we are in Pisa. She has been in Pisa since Christmas so she knows her way around Pisa. Thank goodness! I think every missionary has that moment where they realize that if they lost their companion they wouldn't know how to get home. We are on bikes here in Pisa. Everything is so beautiful!
Thursday- we arrived and took our 17 year old investigator a birthday treat and a little present. We teach her and two younger siblings.
Friday- we met a member who can't go to church because of her health. We call her nonna. A miracle that happened is that when we went to go buy mosquito repellant, we ran into a guy who Sorella Visconti had talked to before and we were able to have a prayer lesson with him! Saturday- ah! We had our first lesson with Maria and Luccia. They are two 80 year old sisters. We had our first lesson on the Restoration. This lesson was amazing. They had lots of questions. They said that if they knew the church was true then they would get baptized! They Spirit was so strong in this lesson. There's nothing like testifying that the Book of Mormon is true to someone has never had the opportunity to read it.
Sunday- Today we taught Flora. She is Chinese and so we taught this lesson in English. We taught about obedience and how obedience helps us find who we truly are. Then we went to church and I bore my testimony. It was a little nerve racking but I did it. I was the first one up there. It was really simple. Honestly, I already love all the members. They are so welcoming and nice. Especially since I can barely understand half of what they say. Haha it's a lot harder to understand Italians.
Monday- We had District Meeting. I had my first Kebab. OH MY GOODNESS. I'm obsessed. It was so good. It's hard to explain what it is but you can look up a picture and I kind of took a picture. Then we had a lesson with Ersi and Eni. I love them. They are sweet girls and I love getting to know them better. We did some finding. Miracles happen when you pray. God's timing is perfect. We were able to meet someone and have a meaningful conversation about the gospel. Hopefully he will see us again. We had dinner at the Di Ruscio's with a non member. Their house was kinda outside the city. It is so beautiful. They live more in the country. I love this family so much! They are hilarious and just so nice. They have an amazing spirit in their home. And yes the homemade pizza was delicious!
Tuesday- we went finding. Miracles are happening. People have been pretty nice! It's amazing. Every no we get leads to a yes. The Lord's hand is in our lives. I know it. He guides us through everything. We taught English class. Holy cow! I'm so glad I learned English as my first language haha. It's hard. There are sentence structures I didn't even realize I used haha.
I know that Heavenly Father is with us through everything that we do. It's about more than knowing. It's about believing with a surety in your heart that it changes your actions and your perspective on life.
"Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not."
