I'm sorry everyone but every week the desire to write
a weekly email just decreases. But I love you all and I feel like so much
always happens that it's just too exciting to not tell you all.
Today we spent all of PDay waiting in a line to see an
opera called La Boheme at La Scala. We are using it for our cultural event and
tickets are actually really cheap if you do it this way.
Last PDay we went to Varenna and then took a ferry
boat to Bellagio. It was so pretty and so hot! We packed a little lunch and ate
it by the lake. Bus schedules are never accurate and so it was a lot of running
around to finally start heading home but definitely worth it!
We went to the gelato festival this week with Gaia. It
was a contest of gelato and so you got 22 mini cones to try them all. We
thought we were going to have it in the bag but after the 10th we slowed down
so fast! Haha. We tried them all though. There was one called femminella made
with lemon and almond milk. It was so good! But there were 3 gross flavors too.
For example, one made with donkey milk, or licorice and rosemary. Ew. So
gross.
Gaia is doing well. She is seriously a trooper. We
were able to get the baptism program planned. She's a little nervous for
everything but she knows what she is doing is right. Now it's not as stressful
that we have everything planned out. She has so much support from the ward too.
They all love her!
We had a scambio in Alessandria that went so well. I
was with Sorella Jorgensen and she is such a good missionary. You can tell
she's just really trying to give it her all. We rode bikes to an appointment
and it was nice to be on bikes again but man, I am out of shape and so are
those bikes! Alessandria is just a cute little city kind of in the country
side.
We were finally able to meet with some new potentials
like Lorenza, Elena, and Diana. The lessons with them went well. Diana is
actually in the Muggiò area so good thing we saw them while we were on scambio
with the Muggiò sorelle.
For that scambio I was with Sorella Vanderkooi and
Sorella Orr was with Sorella Williams. So good to see Sorella Orr again. It's
been nice having her close! And Sorella Vanderkooi is just the cutest! It was
fun getting to know her better.
I'm out of time but I found this quote that I really
love from Elder Maxwell.
"As you submit your wills to God, you are giving
Him the only thing you can actually give Him that is really yours to
give."
We receive so much from our Heavenly Father daily that
we don't truly recognize everything. In reality the only thing that we can
truly give back to God is our will. It's the only thing God has ever asked for
and we know that when we do, we will only be happier.
